I am a visual effects artist based in San Francisco.

Recent projects include the feature films HULK, STAR WARS: EPISODE II and DR. DOLITTLE, and television projects such as "Xena: Warrior Princess," "The 1998 MTV Video Music Awards," and the Jennifer Lopez music video, "If You Had My Love."

Banned From The Ranch

While working with visual effects house Banned From The Ranch, I served as 2D Supervisor and Lead Digital Artist. Under the direction of VFX supervisor Van Ling, we created effects for INSPECTOR GADGET, DR. DOLITTLE and much more. I moved on to Flat Earth Productions--for VFX Supervisor Doug Beswick, I was a composite artist for the fifth season "Xena: Warrior Princess," and lead feature film compositor. At Pixel Magic, I was compositing supervisor for Renny Harlin's DRIVEN and the Bruce Willis film, HART'S WAR.

I am currently a compositor at Industrial Light + Magic in San Rafael, California, where I completed work on STAR WARS EPISODE II and SIGNS, and in 2003 finished HULK and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. In 2004, I worked on VAN HELSING as a lead compositor.

I have been an outspoken proponent of the use of Macintosh computers for feature film visual effects. Using powerful Macintosh computers, in conjunction with Adobe After Effects and Pinnacle Systems' Commotion, I have personally created and supervised hundreds of top quality visual effects shots. In 2001, I was a speaker at the very first After Effects convention, proudly exclaiming my use of the program in some of Hollywood's biggest effects films.

But whatever the platform or software, my strong philosophy of visual effects holds true: use visual effects to tell the story, and not call attention to themselves.

    Visual Effects Headquarters

One of the major projects I've tackled over the years is VFX HQ: Visual Effects Headquarters, a web site I developed and produced between 1995 and 1999.

The VFX HQ is the home for news and information on the feature film visual effects industry, and contains hundreds of pages of reviews, commentary and information on Hollywood's biggest special effects films and producers.

    Visit the site at http://www.vfxhq.com.
